Colonnade House is a thriving creative hub in Worthing, hosting exhibitions and events and providing studio spaces for people working in the creative industries. Sited in a popular pedestrianised town centre area amidst cafes, restaurants and shops, Colonnade House has three floors of studio spaces and two ground floor galleries.
Colonnade House officially opened as a creative hub in September 2016 and one year on the ten studio spaces are running at around 80% occupancy and are let to people working across the creative industries – from animators to illustrators, and photographers to painters.
The two ground floor gallery spaces are available for hire to individual artists, community organisations and groups and in our first year we have hired these spaces to 33 different artists and organisations and have averaged 1000 visitors a month.
Our role as a creative hub includes a professional development programme serving the local creative community through a range of events including networking, skills sharing, business planning and fundraising.
Our mission is
- to provide workspace and exhibition space that is affordable, digitally enabled and managed to a high standard
- to support people working in the creative and digital sector by building a community through networking and sharing of skills and knowledge
- to increase the visibility of the local creative sector through the range and quality of exhibitions and projects presented in the gallery
- to add value in the local economy by supporting local businesses and contributing to the visitor economy
